Profile #
I have a deep interest in technology, design, and inclusion. What I enjoy the most: working with customers to help them solve complex problems, and being their voice within my own organization. I have a strong affinity for security (netsec, infosec) and love blending the technical with the commercial.

Business Development Lead, Nokia Deepfield (Jul. 2020 — today) #
I’m currently working with our customers and Nokia teams in Asia-Pacific to grow the Deepfield software business of network intelligence, analytics & DDoS security.
Besides the expansion of our customer base (adding major references in Japan, India, and Singapore), I have been working closely with our existing customers to expand their own use cases and help make our product better for them. To do that, I regularly interact with various teams within customer organizations:
- network operations (peering/transit capacity planning);
- marketing & customer care (subscriber insights to support new network services; enhanced troubleshooting);
- security operations (DDoS attacks detection & network-based auto-mitigation).
I’ve also been enjoying presenting our latest product capabilities to customers as part of Nokia’s SReXperts annual event.
Head of Sales — Fixed Networks, Nokia (Nov. 2016 — Jun. 2020) #
In this sales role I was developing and growing Nokia’s Fixed Networks business (Fiber, Copper, Cable & services) across Asia-Pacific, India & Greater China. I worked with in-country sales teams & customers to identify and develop net-new opportunities and accelerate conversion to order intake.
Projects ranged from Software-Defined Access Networks (network slicing as enabler to infrastructure wholesale), edge cloud transformation for 5G (evolution of telecom central offices into edge datacenters), and fixed-wireless access networks, in addition to conventional fiber/copper access.
Various roles — Mobile Networks, Alcatel → Alcatel-Lucent → Nokia (Jul. 2005 — Oct. 2016) #
After starting in Alcatel in Malaysia as a pre-sales engineer in 2005, I expanded my skill set through different assignments (from Malaysia to Thailand, Vietnam, then Hong Kong):
- technical pre-sales: leading responses to complex bids (solution definition, technical compliance, bid management, costing optimization, pricing strategy);
- sales support: embedded in the local sales team to define account strategy for the mobile networks business, and directly support contract negotiations from the business side;
- leadership: either indirectly or directly leading mostly virtual teams (e.g. up to 15 people in my organization when I was running Asia-Pacific Wireless pre-sales);
- product management: Asia-Pacific lead for several business lines to prioritize customer product requirements, define commercial strategy, be the regional subject-matter expert, and participate in external events.
